Why ‘Torture Porn’ Is the Hottest (and Most Hated) Thing in Hollywood
Cheap horror films spend little, get big results.
I get freaked out that so many people see these torture movies without being freaked out. I worry that means our civilization is getting sicker, that maybe the acceptance of movies like this is why we in the US aren’t more upset that we torture detainees, even have presidential candidates boasting that they would allow more torture of detainees. But then I feel better when I remember that in times past, people got off on watching people get hung, eaten by lions, burned at stakes, etc.
